It’s an epic fantasy novel. Read it if you like high fantasy. It has insane world-building. It’s a fiction book so there weren’t really that many insights, and I don’t want to spoil anything.

Reflection and takeaways

It’s a real page turner. Sanderson has a habit of always ending the chapters on brutal cliffhangers. Too much for my psyche. I finished this book in about a week, with quite a bit of reading.

My favourite character is Dalinar. He has a monster within him that he is taming. That’s a fascinating arc.

I don’t think I will re-read the book because if you know what’s coming, it won’t be as epic.

Why did I pick it

I have been recommended this book series so many times, it was about time to commit.
